Bad Credit Loans: How Lending Firms Determine the Interest Rates to Charge

A bad credit loan is usually the best option when you have a bad credit rating and are in urgent need of cash. Usually, the interest rate charged for this type of loan is higher compared to that of conventional loans simply because unsecured loans carry higher risk factors. These loans do not usually require any form of collateral even if the risks of lending them are higher. However, to reduce chances of running into losses, borrowers usually increase the repayment timeframe.

Most lending firms analyze a borrowers credit profile and the need for the financial aid before coming up with the best bad credit loan option and the interest rates to charge. It is advisable to always compare the different unsecured loan offers to get one that is affordable and has a low interest rate. Today, competition among lending firms has greatly affected the interest rates charged and you can be sure of getting good rates if you research carefully.

There are two types of Loans For People With Bad Credit; unsecured and secured loans. Secured loans usually come at fixed rates. This means the borrower has to make fixed payments for the amount borrowed throughout the servicing period. On the other hand, unsecured loans usually come with adjustable interest rates that fluctuate depending with the federal prime rates. It is advisable to go for loans with fixed rates since you will have a more manageable payment plan.

What Lenders Consider When Setting the Interest Rates

Lending firms use different criteria to come up with the interest rates to charge different borrowers.

  • To begin, most of them will look at the type of job you have. If you have a temporary job, you will be charged higher interest rates because your risk factor is higher compared to that of a borrower who has a permanent job. Having a temporary job simply implies that you have temporary source of income.
  • Lending firms will also look at why you need the loan. For example, if you are borrowing the amount to invest, you will be increasing the chances of repaying the amount and this can lead you to be given a lower interest rate. The purpose for which you are applying for the loan will either affect the rates positively or negatively.
  • The value of your assets will also affect the interest rates charged. Whereas you will not necessarily have to avail any form of collateral when borrowing, lenders will always want to know of the assets you have when you are applying for a loan. If you have enough assets to cover the loan in case you fail to repay as agreed, then you can be sure of getting lower interest rates.

To get the best bad credit loan interest rates, it is important to research beforehand. Get as much information as possible about the loans available from different lenders. Being well informed is essential especially when faced with tough borrowing decisions.

Most economical bowlers in IPL-5 so far…

May 18

Indian Premier League season five has seen some extraordinary performances by the bowlers so far. It is a format designed to favour the batsmen and the previous four seasons turned out to be the batsmen dominating season. The tournament is in its last two weeks and it has been the most open completion so far. As many as seven teams are fighting for the place in the playoffs and it is mostly because of the efforts from various bowlers.

The biggest topic of discussion in this IPL has been all the last over and last ball finish. But, one thing that people are forgetting that it is the efforts of the bowlers that is taking the match to the last ball. It has not been easy work for the batsmen and most they will agree to it.

Taking wickets is extremely important in all formats but stopping the batsmen to score quick runs is equally important in T20 format. There has been instance that a bowler who has not picked a single wicket has won the match for his teams because of his economical bowling.

Let’s have a look at the bowlers who have been the best when it comes to bowling economically. (Only the bowlers who have bowled more than 20 overs have been taken into consideration)

Sunil Narine (Kolkata Knight Riders): He has been the best bowler for Kolkata Knight Riders and is one of the major reasons why KKR is leading the points table. Narine has been a revelation and no batsmen till now has been able to read him. Narine’s economy rate is 5.30, which is absolutely brilliant. He is also in the race for the purple cap; KKR will be hoping that Narine can carry on with his good form.

Lasith Malinga (Mumbai Indians): No surprise here, Malinga is the best bowler in the world in T20 cricket and he has showed why. Malinga is the current holder of the purple cap and the best thing about him is that he is taking the wickets at a very good economy rate. Malinga has conceded runs at an economy rate of only 5.36.

Ankit Sharma (Deccan Chargers): No one expected him to make it to the list, but he has bowled well to get it in the list of the most economical bowlers. He beat the more experienced Dale Steyn and Amit Mishra in terms of the pace at which he concedes runs. He has been very effective with his slower balls and batsmen have found it hard to hit him. He has conceded runs at an impressive economy rate of 6.41.

R Ashwin (Chennai Super Kings): He has been one of the best bowlers in the history of IPL and he has been effective in this season as well. He has been struggling to pick wickets and has only managed four wickets so far, but his economy rate has been good. Batsmen always find it difficult to get Ashwin away and that reflects in his economy rate which is 6.43.

Muttiah Muralitharan (Royal Challengers Bangalore): Murali has not played all the matches for RCB and the only reason is that the other international spinner in the side is the skipper of RCB. Murali has been troubling batsmen from the past two decades and IPL-5 has not been different. Murali has got eight wickets from the five matches that he has played in and his economy rate of 6.5 is very good.

With a planned opening date of October, the Phoenix center will become the seventh warehouse in the NDCP network and the first located west of the Mississippi. Not only should the new distribution center, which will deliver essentially all food, paper and equipment supplies to Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants, better serve the existing locations in the Southwest, it will also facilitate Dunkin’ Donuts’ ongoing store growth.

In January of this year, the NDCP and Dunkin’ Brands, Inc.

, the parent company of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, announced that they had signed a long-term, performance-based agreement for NDCP to be the exclusive supply chain provider for all Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the continental United States.

For Dunkin’ Brands, the agreement allows the company to realize the benefits of a long-term, performance-based procurement and distribution agreement. Additionally, the agreement supports the Company’s domestic expansion plans by providing franchisees in new markets with the same product costs as franchisees in the more highly built-out, established Dunkin’ Donuts markets. Uniform product costs will be phased in over a three-year period beginning in 2012.

“After a thorough search, we are proud to announce a new western distribution hub in Phoenix for our national network,” said Kevin Bruce, National DCP Chief Executive Officer. “As we continue to grow along with Dunkin’ Donuts, we plan to continue to leverage our network of local distribution centers to efficiently support our members, the Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees. Our mission is to provide Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees with the very best purchasing and distribution service in the quick service restaurant industry.”

“We are delighted to see the NDCP expand its distribution footprint in order to better support our existing and future franchisees,” said Neil Moses, Dunkin’ Brands Chief Financial Officer and company executive with responsibility for global supply chain. “This new center in Phoenix supports our goals to expand Dunkin’ Donuts footprint across the United States and to drive store-level profitability so that our restaurants can provide Dunkin’ Donuts customers with our great coffee and other beverages, baked goods and snacks at a great value.”

With almost 7,000 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the U.S. today, the Company has said it has plans to more than double its current number of restaurants in the U.S. over the next 20 years.

In 2011, Dunkin’ Donuts opened 243 net new restaurants in the U.S. and has said it plans to open 260 to 280 net domestic Dunkin’ locations in 2012. The Company also announced in 2011 that it had signed Store Development Agreements (SDAs) in key western markets including Denver, Colorado; Houston, San Antonio and El Paso, Texas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Pinion: Sports provide benefits

May 18

“Sports enhance personality, teach respect and increase one’s quality of life,” says Neal Takamori, McKinley athletic director. Being active and exercising every day helps support the body’s
health and performance. At McKinley, we have 20 different sports that students
can take part in.

Students involved in sports are always moving around. This helps circulate blood throughout the body, lets more oxygen get to the brain and makes the person more alert to their surroundings. The body also develops stronger muscles and bones and the immune system increases

in strength. One will not be as prone to illnesses and have the ability to maintain his/her appropriate weight.

Partaking in physical activities also gives students a way to relieve stress and reduce depression. From families.com, students who participate in sports are more likely to succeed in academics and graduate from high school. They are also more likely to not take drugs or smoke because they realize the negative impact it would have upon their performance.

The social benefits are that students will be able to meet new people that share similarities with them. Everyone will have to work together in a sport. Students learn how to communicate with

each other in order to achieve their desired goal, like going to OIA championships. Students also gain self-confidence, self-esteem and discipline. These qualities help students handle defeat and victory in acceptable manners and show good sportsmanship.

According to the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, one gains personal rewards from playing sports that can last a lifetime. One learns the value of working hard to reach a desired goal, the importance of picking one’s self up after falling down and just enjoy
his/her time out there when playing with teammates.

Guilty Pleasures: Use Fifty Shades of Grey to Prevent Adultery, says Dr. Bonnie

May 18

The Fifty Shades of Grey phenomena is sweeping the nation, with the newly-released trilogy (the accompanying books Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed) – erotic romance novels written for women, by a woman who claims this type of fiction helped her deal with her own mid-life crisis. The books started out as self-published works by author EL James, became a sensation, and hit the New York Times Bestseller list.

(PRWEB) April 30, 2012

The Fifty Shades of Grey phenomena is sweeping the nation, with the newly-released trilogy (the accompanying books Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed) – erotic romance novels written for women, by a woman who claims this type of fiction helped her deal with her own mid-life crisis. The books started out as self-published works by author EL James, became a sensation, and hit the New York Times Bestseller list.

Sex and relationship therapist Dr. Bonnie Eaker Weil says women are piggybacking positively on the material from the book. Many women do an additional 30 hours of work in the home, beyond their careers, she says. Add to this that a quarter of women are the main breadwinner, but men are happier if they are earning more – and you have a recipe for tension and stress in many homes.

Women are frequently burnt out, overworked, and have difficulty sleeping because of the stress. For this reason, they need guilty pleasures to help them stay more balanced. Dr. Bonnie says these books are a great alternative to stress eating or drinking; its a way of fantasizing and over-correcting for the additional work theyre doing. Its helping women who have been supermom to sublimate their feelings of overwork and burn out while catering to their need for sizzle, novelty, excitement, romance which is missing in many relationships. Who has the time? (But theyre making the time to read the book, so why is that?)

To that end, Dr. Bonnie says these books can actually help couples bring back the missing romance and magic. In her books Can we Cure and Forgive Adultery, and Make Up Dont Break Up, Dr. Bonnie talks about the importance of womens fantasies and guilty pleasures. Instead of simply identifying with the woman in the book, advises Dr. Bonnie, why not act out some of those fantasies and guilty pleasures – and have an affair! But with your own partner! The best thing for burn-out and stress-busting is sex!

Because of this, Dr. Bonnie feels this series can actually help prevent adultery. Have an affair with your own partner! she encourages. Some of my patients are even reading excerpts of the book to their husbands so they can act out scenarios.

To build intimacy Dr. Bonnie suggests starting with a 30 second kiss or 20 second hug as a pre-requisite for foreplay. Stress that women are under causes hormonal changes that require soothing such as a 20 second hug or 30 second kiss – and sex. No matter how the book impacts women, Dr. Bonnie reminds them that its important to restore the sizzle and magic of a relationship; having an affair with their own partner can be a great way to do so.

Dr. Bonnie talks more about these techniques in her book, Adultery the Forgivable Sin, which was made into a movie with Kate Jackson. She was also featured in the documentary Unfaithful which aired on Discovery Health and the Oprah Winfrey Network. http://bit.ly/GSP0KB

Want to hold onto your gray matter? Exercise and socialize

May 17

Researchers looked at 299 adults with a mean age of 78 years and asked participants to quantify how much walking they did in one week. Nine years later, after comparing baseline brain scans to updated scans, researchers found that participants who had walked a greater amount of miles weekly maintained more of their brain tissue. (People tend to lose brain volume as they age.) Researchers noted that walking six to nine miles per week was necessary to detect differences in brain volume. Longer distances did not result in significant differences.

The study concluded that: Greater gray matter volume is associated with physical activity in a period of life in which cortical deterioration and risk of dementia is greatest.

In another study published online last month in the journal Neurology, researchers found that higher levels of total daily physical activity may protect the brain from Alzheimers disease.

Michal Schnaider Beeri, a rehabilitation psychologist at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, said in an interview that this study is significant because it measures the intensity of both fitness and routine daily activities — from jogging to card playing to washing dishes — using an actigraph wrist device. Beeri said the objective measure of the wrist device is more accurate than self-reported information used in most studies.

The study used data from 716 individuals, average age of 82, without dementia from the Memory and Aging Project. Participants wore the actigraphs on their wrist for 24 hours a day for up to 10 days to determine levels and intensity of total activities. About four years later, researchers found that 71 subjects developed clinical Alzheimers disease.

Researchers said that participants in the lowest 10 percent for physical activity were more than twice as likely to develop Alzheimers disease compared to those in the highest 10 percent.

The results show that all levels of interaction are beneficial — though the more intense, the better, says Beeri, who was not part of the study.

If youre active — if you cook, talk with your hands, push yourself in your own wheelchair — even if you have mobility limitations because of arthritis or other conditions — activity is going to help decrease the risk of Alzheimers compared to if you didnt do anything, says Beeri who wrote an editorial about the study.

Staying active is important even if a person develops physical limitations or memory impairment, says Dr. Peter DeGolia, director of the Center for Geriatric Medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center. You may have to change what you do, but you should do something.

Exercising the body and mind is equally important, he said. Start slow and gradually build physical activities into your daily schedule. That is critical.

If balance issues prevent you from biking, lift small weights or get out and walk. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Try tai chi to improve balance, he said.

Retired teacher Dorothy Gore, 70, of Solon, says she feels the benefits of a 45-minute exercise class three days a week that includes aerobics, muscle toning, resistance training and stretching. After going to class, I can tell the difference in my everyday routine. My joints arent as stiff. Its what she needs, especially on the days when she takes care of her young grandchildren.

Personal trainer Christie Cox, who conducts fitness classes for senior citizens at the Solon center, recommends finding a fun exercise or activity — such as line dancing. That way you wont dread it and youll stick to it.

To keep life interesting, choose an activity that involves the mind and body, says Cox, who leads a weekly two-mile nature walk.

Those who are apprehensive about a group activity may want to start by mall walking or using an exercise video at home, she suggests. Then when you feel a little more in shape, look for a class at a local fitness or community center. Meeting other people could mean new friendships and camaraderie, she says. Community is an essential aspect of keeping physically and mentally alert.

Health advocates agree that physical activity is good for everything.

Its beneficial to the quality of life, combating heart disease and reducing the risk of falls, disability and depression, Mount Sinais Beeri says. Theres not much risk to staying active, and you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
